Re-sizing

Whatever the reason your ring doesn’t fit anymore, don’t let it become the reason why you stop wearing it. Here at Stephen Alan’s Jewellers in Leighton Buzzard, we regularly resize rings, whether it’s to make them smaller or larger, without affecting the overall integrity.

Polishing

Over time, jewellery becomes scratched, and loses its shine. By getting us to professionally polish your jewellery at our Leighton Buzzard workshop, you’ll see it’s original, deep shine return, and, if it’s white gold, we’ll reapply its rhodium plating, to really bring it back to its former glory.

Re-threading

Your pearl or beaded necklace is precious, but over time the thread used to hold the pearls or beads in place, becomes worn, and prone to breaking. To prevent this happening, at our Leighton Buzzard jewellery workshop, we provide a rethreading and restringing service, making sure your necklace looks its best for a long time to come.

Engraving...

Hand engraving jewellery

Hand Engraving

Hand engraving is a centuries old craft, and a dying artform, that we keep alive in our Leighton Buzzard workshop. Carried out using a series of handheld tools, our skilled engraver carefully scribes the text, image or pattern directly onto the precious metal, creating an effect unmatched by machine.

Machine engraving jewellery

Machine Engraving

This is where the item is clamped into a machine, and a template is followed, adding the desired pattern to an item. This makes it easy to reproduce fonts multiple times, at speed. Although this process is a more cost effective way of engraving, the results of using a machine will never match hand engraving, in the hands of a master engraver.
